Dr. James R. Midboe grew up in the small Northern Minnesota town of Climax, where he was a multi-sport athlete, musician, and honor student. After high school, he accepted a football scholarship at Bemidji State University. While at Bemidji State, he received several academic honors while earning a Bachelor of Science in Biology and a Bachelor of Arts in Chemistry.
Beyond the classroom, he was named team captain, team MVP, first-team All-Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference, and All-Northwest Region during his time as a four-year starter for the Bemidji State Football Team.
Dr. James served as president of the Allied Health Club, vice president and secretary of the Chemistry Club, and president of the Student-Athlete Advisory Committee, which served as the voice between all student-athletes of Bemidji State and the NSIC.
Dr. Midboe’s introduction to the field of chiropractics occurred after sustaining a neck injury early in his high school football career. Initially advised that he would never play contact sports again, he sought chiropractic treatment and was able to not only return to contact sports but excel at both the collegiate and professional levels.
He attributes much of his return to the playing field, eventual college scholarship, years of traveling the country, and meeting some of the most influential people of his life to the workings of the chiropractic profession.
Dr. Midboe is a 2011 graduate from Northwestern Health Science University, in Bloomington, MN. While in graduate school, he served two separate internship periods at Finish Line Wellness before eventually being hired on full time in 2011. He is now the sole owner of Finish Line Wellness as of February 2015. He enjoys his time outdoors, playing guitar, hunting, basketball, working out, learning about health, and his time with friends and family. His long-term goals include being able to travel while educating people about wellness.

Playing sports throughout childhood and culminating with playing college baseball, Dr. Tom has experienced a wide range of injuries. The chiropractic lifestyle is what he attributes to “staying on the field” all those years. Dr. Tom was so impressed with the profession he took off his cleats for good in 2007 and enrolled at Northwestern Chiropractic College.
Since graduating in 2011, his mission has changed from just helping athletes, to helping his whole community live the healthiest lives they can. He accomplishes this by teaching his patients and community about Eating Right, Moving Right and Thinking Right.
