Meet the Doctors
Dr. James R. Midboe, D.C.
Dr. James R. Midboe grew up in the small Northern Minnesota town of Climax, where he was a multi-sport athlete, musician, and honor student. After high school, he accepted a football scholarship at Bemidji State University. While at Bemidji State, he received several academic honors and scholarships while earning a Bachelor of Science in Biology and a Bachelor of Arts in Chemistry.
Beyond the classroom, as he was named team captain, team MVP, first team all-Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference, and all-Northwest Region during his time as a four-year starter for the Bemidji State Football Team.
His dedication in the classroom and on the playing field was complimented by his leadership in other campus organizations including serving as president of the Allied Health Club, vice president and secretary of the Chemistry Club, and president of the Student Athlete Advisory Committee, which served as the voice between all student athletes of Bemidji State and the NSIC.
It was through sports that Dr. Midboe was initially introduced to the chiropractic profession. After sustaining a neck injury early in his high school football career, he was told he would never return to contact sports again. But, after several successful chiropractic treatments, was able to not only return to contact sports, but excel at both the collegiate and professional levels.
He attributes much of his return to the playing field, eventual college scholarship, years of traveling the country, and meeting some of the most influential people of his life to the workings of the chiropractic profession.
Dr. Midboe is a 2011 graduate from Northwestern Health Science University, in Bloomington, MN. While in graduate school, he served two separate internship periods at Finish Line Chiropractic before eventually being hired on full time in 2011. Dr. Midboe enjoys his time outdoors, playing guitar, hunting, basketball, working out, learning about health, and his time with friends and family. His long-term goals include being able to travel while educating people about wellness.
Dr. James T. Alexander, D.C.
Dr. James T. Alexander grew up in Lafayette, Minnesota, a small town north of New Ulm, and received his undergraduate degree from Gustavus Adolphus University and Doctorate of Chiropractic degree at Northwestern Health Sciences University.
Dr. Jim was introduced to chiropractic as a high school athlete, and quickly learned how chiropractic should be a vital part of any athlete’s lifestyle. Through chiropractic, Dr. Jim was shown the amazing healing properties of our body, and his personal experiences through chiropractic are the driving force to his passion for health and wellness.
Dr. Jim is the founder of Finish Line Chiropractic and recently sold the practice to Dr. Midboe. Dr. Jim will be focusing on expanding the Finish Line mission into chiropractic offices throughout the country. While maintaining an integral adjusting role, Dr. Jim will be diligently working on the LiveLife Wellness Coaching and Franchise opportunity. This is a program for chiropractors around the world to learn and replicate the systems that have helped Finish Line become one of the largest Wellness offices in the United States. This mission will help chiropractors and patients nationwide become exceptional in their pursuit of wellness.
In his free time, Dr. Jim enjoys spending time with his wife Chrissy, daughter Maddyn, sons Oren and Grayson. He also enjoys playing basketball, running and weightlifting.
Dr. Ashley Hartman, D.C.
Dr. Ashley Hartman was born and raised in Bismarck, ND. Upon graduating high school with honors, she attended St. Cloud State University to complete her undergraduate studies. She went on to receive her Doctorate of Chiropractic from Northwestern Health Sciences University in Bloomington, MN in 2008.
Dedicated to helping her patients live happier, healthier lives, Dr. Ashley treats the body as a whole, focusing on correction of the problem, instead of temporary symptom relief. Her goals are to improve overall function of the body and restoring optimal health so patients are able to do what they love in life without health limitations.
With a special interest in the health of women, Dr. Ashley helps maximize their health through the various stages of life, including pregnancy & menopause. She sees a variety of patients, from newborns to the elderly, with treatments tailored specifically to each patient’s condition and comfort level to ensure each visit is a positive experience. Dr. Ashley has a passion for educating patients and the community on nutrition and healthy lifestyle choices because knowledge is the key to making positive life changes!
Outside of work, Dr. Ashley loves to spend time with her husband, Matt, son, Hudson & their chocolate lab, Brody. She also enjoys working out, hiking, reading, weekends up north at the family cabin, and visiting friends & family as much as possible.
Dr. Mathew Wiest, D.C.
Matt grew up in Enchant, Alberta, Canada, a small farming community just east of the Rocky Mountains. After high school Matt spent three years in Vancouver playing junior hockey before moving to Wisconsin to play college hockey at the University of Wisconsin – Superior where he earned his Bachelor of Exercise Science in Wellness and Fitness Management.
During his time at the University of Wisconsin – Superior, Matt was on the Northern Collegiate Hockey Association (NCHA) All Academic Team as well as serving on the student government as Communications Director for the University representing the voice of the student body.
Matt continued his education in Davenport, Iowa at Palmer College of Chiropractic where he earned his Doctorate of Chiropractic (D.C.) degree. It was through his experience in athletics that Matt’s passion for chiropractic grew. Matt is full body certified in Active Release Technique (ART) a system designed to help patients with problems with muscles, tendons, ligaments, fascia and nerves. Through personal experience as well as witnessing first hand numerous teammates benefit from care on and off the field, Matt knew that this is what he was meant to do.
In his free time Matt enjoys hockey, rugby, hiking, yoga, working out and spending time with his wife Britny, their daughter Nara, and their two dogs.
Dr. Bobby Hansen, D.C.
Dr. Bobby was born and raised in Minocqua, Wisconsin where he was a 3-sport athlete throughout high school.
He continued his education at the University of Wisconsin – Stevens Point where he participated in football for 4 years and earned his Bachelor’s degree in Health Sciences. During his time in sports and undergrad, Bobby developed a passion for the chiropractic principles and also managing a variety of conditions and diseases using a non-invasive approach.
He enrolled at the Palmer College of Chiropractic – Port Orange campus where in addition to school, he worked part-time in a chiropractic clinic as an assistant. Bobby graduated Magna Cum Laude and received the academic excellence award for his efforts throughout the entire 3 year course of study. While at Palmer, Bobby became interested in Sacro-Occipital Technique (SOT), participated in the club, and served as the club president for a year.
Dr. Bobby attributes his approach to chiropractic care from his studies in SOT, while also utilizing a variety of different techniques specifically tailored to patients including infants just days old. In addition to the chiropractic adjustment he also likes to incorporate nutritional therapy when treating patients, maximizing patient potential. Lastly, his passion for patient education on a variety of subjects including disease processes and healthy lifestyle continues to provide motivation on a daily basis.
In his free time, Bobby enjoys a variety of indoor and outdoor activities including basketball, weight training, hunting, fishing, hiking, and camping. He often travels to his hometown of Minocqua, WI to enjoy the summers of northern Wisconsin.
